The Cliche

I think it's starting to feel cliche to not use cliches... Writers seem like they're trying so hard not to use a cliche that their prose becomes gawdy and awkward. I don't like it. From this day forward, I am an advocate for cliches and will promote their usage under most circumstances(barring local news writers, whom, by the very nature of their profession, have such a mastery of the art that to limit their use of cliches on such a subjective basis as is my standard expectancy would be akin to forcing Michelangelo to sculpt with poop). So it is, with a twinkle in my eye, that I get down and dirty, assume the position with no if, and's or but's about it, and proclaim myself a lover of all things cliche.
